Nancy Pelosi: Do You “Know Your Own Power”?

The Honorable Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi recently launched a media tour to promote her new book, “Know Your Power.” I cannot personally attest to have read this book (and don’t plan on doing so).  I do, however, find the book’s title to be quite ironic in the aftermath of her recent appearance on ABC’s “The View”.

“The View” panel member Joy Behar asked Pelosi why she wasn’t pursuing impeachment.

Pelosi’s response was unbelievable: “If somebody had a crime that the president had committed, that would be a different story.”

Apparently Ms. Pelosi hasn’t read any of the Articles of Impeachment that have been presented by Rep. Dennis Kucinich and others on several occasions – 2005, 2006, and most recently in May this year.  These Articles of Impeachment were the topic of discussion for the July 25^th House Judiciary Committee hearing that lasted six hours, with over a dozen witnesses testifying and 24 members of Congress in attendance.

The evidence on impeachment, as Dennis Kucinich has courageously and thoroughly demonstrated, is overwhelming. On Democracy Now, Kucinich responded to Pelosi’s claim, pointing to the 35 AOI he recently presented to House Judiciary Committee July 25^th.  

And as history has recorded, there is plenty of precedence established with previous crimes and impeachment efforts held against previous Presidents, specifically Nixon, who resigned rather face the legal impeachment proceedings.  To refresh your memory, Former President Nixon was wiretapping DNC headquarters.  Sounds close to the admission from Bush about his wiretapping:

Bush himself admitted that he wasn’t obeying the FISA law when he was spying on people without first getting a warrant from the FISA court as required explicitly in the statute.

Ms. Pelosi, isn’t this a crime based on the impeachment requirements of High Crimes and Misdemeanors?

 To attest to her personal knowledge of power and expertise, below is an excerpt from Ms. Pelosi’s biography posted on her House member web site boasting of her accomplishments and legislative experience:

 “As a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence for 10 years (the longest continuous period of service in the committee's history) including two years as the Ranking Democrat, Pelosi worked to ensure that policymakers and military commanders are provided with the timely and accurate intelligence necessary to guide diplomatic initiatives, succeed in combat, and protect U.S. military forces.

In the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Pelosi led congressional reviews of the U.S. intelligence and security agencies and authored legislation to create an independent national commission to assess the overall performance of the federal government before, during, and after the attacks. Pelosi has also served on the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct (Ethics) and the Banking and Financial Services Committee.” (http://www.house.gov/pelosi/biography/bio.html)

 

I wonder if Ms. Pelosi realizes the Pandora’s Box she has opened for herself?

 

CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:

 

Either her biography is complete fiction, or she doesn’t know what her own power, or lack thereof, has accomplished;

 

How can a House member, the esteemed Speaker no less, brag about their support for Human Rights, support for Standards of Official Conduct (Ethics), and authorize legislation to assess the overall performance of the federal government before, during, and after the 9/11 attacks and NOT KNOW IF THERE WERE ANY CRIMES COMMITTED BY BUSH OR CHENEY?  Or herself, for that matter;

 

The Constitution empowers the House of Representatives to impeach federal officials for "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors" and empowers the Senate to try such impeachments. The House may approve "articles of impeachment" by a simple majority vote; however, a two-thirds vote is required for conviction in the Senate. A convicted official is automatically removed from office; in addition, the Senate may stipulate that the defendant be banned from holding office in the future. No further punishment is permitted during the impeachment proceedings; however, the party may face criminal penalties in a normal court of law.

 

In law, treason is the crime that covers some of the more serious acts of disloyalty to one’s sovereign or nation.  I believe her failure to act upon the Articles of Impeachment constitutes as treason and collusion to further the agenda of the Bush regime.  Translation – impeachable offense.

 

Per the U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 4: “ The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” 

 

The official oath to be recited by all individuals taking office as President, Vice President, Congress or House of Representatives:

 

“I, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter.

 So help me God.”

Blinded by her efforts to push her book, “Know Your Power”, it appears that the Honorable Nancy Pelosi has not only put her foot in her mouth on National Television, she has put herself in FULL VIEW of the American Public as – derelict in duty, possibly guilty of impeachable offenses herself, and clueless about her own power as Speaker of the House.

 

The upside – Thank you, Ms. Pelosi – for opening the door to continuing the impeachment efforts, and providing NATIONAL NETWORK EXPOSURE to the Impeachment Movement.
